Red Cross Opens Warming Centers in Mariposa and Oakhurst

MOUNTAIN COMMUNITIESThe American Red Cross Central Valley Region has announced they are opening two Evacuation/ Warming Centers in Mariposa and Oakhurst for the many residents that are being impacted with power outages due to the winter storms that have pummeled our communities this week.

The American Red Cross will re-open their resource center at 9:00 am tomorrow morning at the Mariposa Senior Center, 5246 Spriggs Lane. If you need assistance to get to the shelter, please call 209-259-1332.

UPDATE 2.27.2023

Both warming centers will be open today from 9am until 5pm. We will keep this article updated.

MADERA COUNTY

A Red Cross Evacuation & Warming Center is open at Oakhurst Community Center (39800 Fresno Flats Rd, Oakhurst, CA 93644) for those impacted by power outages throughout Madera County. Red Cross volunteers are assisting with snacks, water, coffee, safe shelter and additional resources.
Residents are encouraged to visit for safe refuge, as well as a place to warm up and charge electronics. The center will be open until 6pm this evening.

 

MARIPOSA COUNTY

If you are still without power due to the recent storms, a resource center has been established by the American Red Cross and will open at 9 AM and close at 6PM at the Mariposa Senior Center located at 5246 Spriggs Lane in Mariposa.

If you are in need of other support services, please call 209-259-1332, and a member of the Health and Human Services Agency team will assist you.
