MARIPOSA — University of California Cooperative Extension will host an informational session about the local Prescribed Burn Association (PBA) on the back patio of The Grove House on Monday, November 7, from 5 – 7 p.m.
The PBA is a group of local landowners, agency partners, and other community members throughout the southern Sierra Nevada that conduct prescribed burns on private lands.
Prescribed burning is a cost-effective tool used to reduce fuels and damage from catastrophic wildfires, limit woody encroachment, improve forage for livestock production and wildlife, and manage invasive species.
