Prescribed Burn Association to Host Informational Session

MARIPOSAUniversity of California Cooperative Extension will host an informational session about the local Prescribed Burn Association (PBA) on the back patio of The Grove House on Monday, November 7, from 5 – 7 p.m.

Image of The Grove House logo. This event will provide an opportunity for community members to interact with PBA members, learn about prescribed fire, and hear about upcoming opportunities to volunteer with the PBA.

The PBA is a group of local landowners, agency partners, and other community members throughout the southern Sierra Nevada that conduct prescribed burns on private lands.

Prescribed burning is a cost-effective tool used to reduce fuels and damage from catastrophic wildfires, limit woody encroachment, improve forage for livestock production and wildlife, and manage invasive species.
