Picayune Rancheria Donates to Support Renewal of Measure T

COARSEGOLD–The Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians is proud to donate $100,000 to support the “Moving Madera Forward” campaign to renew Measure T. Measure T, a half-cent sales tax measure, has been pivotal in funding transportation projects in Madera County since its inception in 2006. The renewal of Measure T is crucial for continuing to address the county’s growing transportation needs, including road repairs, evacuation planning, safe routes to school, public transit enhancements, and more.

“This significant contribution underscores the Tribe’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life in Madera County through improved infrastructure and transportation,” said Tracey Hopkins, Chairwoman of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians.

We believe that the renewal of Measure T is essential for the continued growth and prosperity of Madera County.

“Our Tribe is deeply invested in the future of our community, and we are proud to support an initiative that will have lasting benefits for all residents. We look forward to fostering a continued partnership with the County of Madera as well as the City Council of Madera and Chowchilla.”

The Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians has a long history of contributing to the well-being of Madera County, and this donation is another step in their ongoing efforts to support local initiatives that foster economic development and improve infrastructure.

The “Moving Madera Forward “campaign is focused on educating voters about the critical importance of renewing Measure T and the positive impact it will have on transportation and infrastructure in Madera County.

Measure T is critical to continue Madera County’s growth and maintenance,” said Supervisor Jordan Wamhoff. “Through this campaign, we are leaning on all our partners across the county to help extend this critical lifeline.

We are honored to have the support of the Tribal Council of Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians, who are true development partners with the County of Madera, and we are excited to join with them to move Madera forward!”
