SIERRA NATIONAL FOREST – We are getting our first look at the aftermath of the French Fire, thanks to Dirk Charley, Forest Public Affairs Officer on the Bass Lake Ranger District.
Dirk took a drive up the Sierra Vista Scenic Byway, and brought back these photos of Rock Creek and Fish Creek Campgrounds and Mile High Vista.
Those who love these campgrounds will be thrilled to see just how much of these beautiful places actually survived the ravages of the fire. Some places look virtually untouched. Mile High Vista did not fare quite as well.
These photos were taken on Wednesday, Aug. 6. Thank you Dirk Charley for allowing us to share. Be sure to click the photos to enlarge.
First eight photos Rock Creek Campground – second eight Fish Creek, final eight Mile High Vista.
