MARIPOSA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct the following one-way traffic control next week on State Route-49 (SR-49) and SR-140 for maintenance and construction operations. Work is scheduled as follows:
STATE ROUTE 49
• One-way traffic control from Agua Fria Road to Whitlock Road for utility work. Work will occur Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 12:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
• One-way traffic control from Harris Road to Stumpfield Mountain Road for drainage work. Work will take place beginning Monday, December 16, through Friday, December 20, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• One-way traffic control from Mount Ophir Road to Old Toll Road for utility work. Work will occur Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• One-way traffic control from Bear Valley Point to Road Back to Old HWY 49 for utility work. Work will occur Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
STATE ROUTE 140
• One-way traffic control at Fourth Street for sign/banner work. Work will occur Monday, December 16, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• One-way traffic control from beginning of the passing lane in Catheys Valley to State Route 49 North for pavement work beginning Sunday, December 15, through Friday, December 20, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Motorists should expect 5-10 minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible.
This work is to take place as above but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, equipment/material availability, and construction-related issues.
