The celebration begins with a fundraising dinner for Tier One Tranquility Base. The dinner will include a pulled pork sandwich, chips, and water.

$10 suggested donation.

All profits will go to Tier One Tranquility Base, a program to help returning veterans with PTSD.

The dinner will be followed by a Flag Day program that will feature guest speaker Steve Kuryla, the founder of Tier One Tranquility Base. Steve’s story is an amazing one and includes his service to our country and now his service to our veterans.

To give you some idea of what you will hear, this is Steve’s response to a question asked in an interview about his life and career: “How blessed I have been to have worked with and fought beside some of the finest human beings God ever put on this planet. And that’s not a bumper sticker. I truly believe that ‘All evil needs to succeed is for good men to sit back and do nothing.’ I don’t mourn the loss of those I served with, I thank God that such men lived.”

The program will have lots of patriotic music led by Tim Johnson, the Pledge of Allegiance, and a flag retirement/burning ceremony. The Flag Day program will take place in the Memorial Garden next to the Veterans’ Memorial.
