NORTH FORK – Ever since the Madera County Board of Supervisors approved the conditional use permit to allow the construction of a cell phone tower near Cascadel Woods, North Fork residents have been anxiously awaiting news of a groundbreaking.
After repeated attempts to get a response from Verizon or Complete Wireless (the contractor slated to build the tower), we have received an update from Tom Wheeler’s office.Linda Lascano, RF Engineer for Verizon Wireless, says, “Verizon is putting together the 2013 build list. From this we will have a better idea when we can estimate it will be built.”
So North Fork residents will have to continue searching out the high spots in the area to make a cell phone call for the foreseeable future. We will keep you updated as we learn more in the coming months.
