New Year’s Eve Elegance Awaits At The Elderberry House

Five Diamond Style Celebration

OAKHURST, Calif. — A longtime centerpiece of fine dining in the Sierra foothills will once again anchor New Year’s Eve celebrations in Oakhurst. The Elderberry House, located on the grounds of the Chateau du Sureau, is preparing to welcome guests for an evening that blends culinary craftsmanship, global inspiration, and a formal close to the calendar year.

Set within the Five-Diamond estate, the New Year’s Eve dinner has become a seasonal tradition for both local residents and destination travelers. This year’s event centers on an “Around the World” tasting menu, designed and executed by the Elderberry House culinary team. The multi-course experience highlights international flavors while maintaining the refined style for which the restaurant is known.

Organizers say the evening is intended to be immersive rather than rushed. Guests arrive to a setting defined by historic architecture, landscaped grounds, and an atmosphere of quiet elegance. From there, the dinner unfolds as a paced culinary journey, with each course paired to complement both the menu and the occasion.

The restaurant will offer two seatings, each providing a distinct experience. The early seating, beginning at 5:30 p.m., is priced at $185 per guest. A later seating at 9:00 p.m., priced at $235 per guest, is designed for those who wish to dine deeper into the evening and transition toward the New Year in a celebratory setting.

While the menu itself remains curated and controlled, the broader goal remains consistent. The Elderberry House aims to create a sense of occasion that feels both intimate and elevated. Guests dine alongside the restaurant’s extended family of staff and fellow patrons, marking the close of the year in a shared setting rooted in tradition and hospitality.

Reservations are required for both seatings, and availability is limited. The dinner is not open for walk-ins, reflecting the planning and precision involved in executing the event.

As New Year’s Eve approaches, the dinner stands out as one of the region’s most formal celebrations. For Oakhurst and the surrounding mountain communities, it represents more than a single night of dining. It signals the continuity of a landmark institution and its role in shaping how the area marks significant moments.

For many guests, the evening serves as both a reflection on the year past and a measured, elegant beginning to the year ahead.
