New Tech Business In North Fork

NORTH FORK — A local woman has started a company that she says is unique to the region.

A 30-year resident of North Fork, Cynthia Elm is a statistics professor at Clovis Community College, teaching students how to apply programming and statistics to solve business problems. When she went looking for a data analytics company in the area and couldn’t find one, she decided to start her own. Thus, CenCal Data Analytics was born.

“We build prediction models, identify trends, do statistical analysis, perform web scraping, and offer Excel workshops,” Elm says. “We do the numbers stuff and find your solutions! I believe CenCal Data Analytics is the first of its kind in this area.”

Elm went to college at Fresno State. Her first degree was in chem, and later she obtained an MBA with a background in project management. In addition to her work in California, Elm teaches online courses to students in China. In fact, she just returned from a trip to China and is back in North Fork, getting busy.

To celebrate the opening of her company and begin to establish relationships with local businesses in the mountain area, Elm says the firm will offer some services — free of charge — to the first three mountain area businesses that call CenCalData.

Congratulations, Cynthia!
