Music on the Green Presents Sugar Pine & Soul Galaxy

MARIPOSA–One of Mariposa’s longest-standing community programs, Music on the Green features free, live concerts every Friday and Saturday of the summer at the Mariposa County Art Park. Produced by Andy Roberts and the Mariposa Arts Council, Music on the Green supports local and traveling musicians from all genres. It also draws visitors and residents alike to Mariposa’s vibrant, historic downtown community.

This weekend’s featured music guests are Sugar Pine and Soul Galaxy.

Sugar Pine

Sugar Pine is an acoustic string ensemble from North Fork, California. They have been performing regularly at the Yosemite Sugar Pine railroad for over 40 years! The band covers popular tunes from many genres including country, bluegrass, folk, pop, rock and jazz. The band consists of guitar, bass, percussion, banjo and vocal harmonies.

Soul Galaxy

Soul Galaxy will make their annual Music on the Green appearance on Saturday, July 6th. This band is one of the longest running, consistently performing bands on the Mariposa County music scene. They play a mix of original and cover songs in the rock and blues tradition. At the front of the band is guitar virtuoso Tim Hagar, and Jon Kidd on Drums and vocals. Charles Green is on Bass. Special guest performers are also always a possibility.
