Deep Roots and Proven Leadership
Mel has spent years serving her community. She built a successful local business. She also led a statewide professional organization with nearly 200,000 members. Because of this experience, she says she is ready to bring strong leadership, accountability, and energy to the Board of Supervisors.
“Madera County is truly a special place to live and work,” Barker said. “From the U.S. Navy to the business community, from youth programs to statewide advocacy, I’ve dedicated my life to service. Now I’m ready to serve our District 5 community as Supervisor. I will work hard, listen closely, and focus on real solutions.”
A Commitment to District 5 Communities
Barker promises responsive, transparent, community-centered leadership. District 5 stretches from Tesoro Viejo to Yosemite National Park, and from Raymond to North Fork. She wants every resident, business, and family to feel heard and supported.
