Mandatory Evacuation For Cascadel As Mission Fire Grows

NORTH FORK — Evacuations are underway for a new fire, this one on Mission Drive just off Cascadel Drive in North Fork.

The fire was reported just after 1 p.m., and the first engine on scene reported it at about four acres.

By 1:52 it was estimated at about 30 acres. The fire is spotting out ahead of itself up to 1/4 mile, with a moderate rate of spread and is threatening untold number of homes.

The fire will be in Cascadel in less than an hours, say officials.

The incident commander has ordered a total of 7 air tankers, 4 helicopters and more engines. Air resources have been put on a “no divert” to any other fires due to the threat to human life.

As of 2 p.m., one structure is partially involved.

At 2:06 p.m., the incident command reported the fire has reached Cascadel Heights.

We will update this article as conditions change.
