Jodee Eileen Luna-Johnson
February 7th, 1948 — January 12th, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jodee Eileen Luna-Johnson on January 12, 2025. Born on February 7th, 1948, to Elzy and Virginia Luna in Strathmore, California, Jodee lived a life filled with adventure, passion, and resilience.
A graduate of Strathmore High School, Jodee continued her education at Fresno City College. There she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Over the years, she held a variety of roles, from running her father’s dry-cleaning business in Oakhurst to serving as a dedicated Special Education Teacher’s Aide for the Madera County Department of Education.
Jodee’s love for music, history, and travel shaped her spirit. She found great joy in hearing about her granddaughter Victoria’s equestrian pursuits and embraced life on her own terms, facing challenges with strength, and generosity. Her presence brought color and warmth to the lives of those around her, and she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Luna of Raymond, CA, and her cherished granddaughters, Kylee Marie Luna of North Dakota and Victoria Elizabeth Luna of Raymond, CA. Jodee is also remembered by her niece, Shari Kay Hiatt, her nephew, Douglas Hiatt, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elzy and Virginia Luna, as well as her sister, Joanne Hiatt. Jodee’s light, love, and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
A celebration of Jodee’s life will be held in April 2025 at Bass Lake. Those interested in attending can email jal93703@gmail.com for further details.
