MADERA — A Madera County Superior Court jury found David Gary Jaquez guilty Wednesday, Aug. 29, of four felony counts of child molestation, according to Madera County District Attorney Michael R. Keitz.Evidence introduced during the trial showed that Jaquez, 59, of Madera, began molesting the 7-year-old girl in February 2009. The molestation continued until November 2011 when the victim reported the abuse to a school employee.
Prosecuting Deputy District Attorney Sally Moreno said the case could not have come to its successful conclusion without the victim’s exceptional courage in reporting the incident, cooperating with the Madera Police Department and testifying in court.
Jaquez will be sentenced Sept. 27 in Madera County Superior Court, where he faces a maximum sentence of 46 years to life in prison.
