Helping One Woman Oakhurst to Honor Rhiana Jones at June Community Dinner

Community members are invited to come together for an evening of generosity, support, and celebration as Helping One Woman (HOW) Oakhurst honors June 2026 recipient Rhiana Jones during its monthly dinner gathering on Tuesday, June 16.

The event will take place at the Oakhurst Community Center, located at 39800 Road 425B, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and dinner beginning at 6 p.m.

Jones was nominated and sponsored by Shannon Brimage and will be recognized as the organization’s June recipient. The evening will feature dinner, raffle opportunities, desserts, auction items, and the signature spirit of encouragement that has become the hallmark of HOW Oakhurst events.

Helping One Woman is a community-based organization dedicated to providing financial assistance and emotional support to local individuals facing challenging circumstances. Each month, a recipient is selected through nominations submitted by attendees, and community members gather to offer support through a shared meal and donations.

Attendees must reserve and prepay for their meals online in advance. No walk-ins or ticket sales will be available at the door. Reservations close at noon on Sunday, June 14.

Dinner will be catered by Willow Creek Catering and guests may choose from three entrée options:

  • Beef Stroganoff
  • Tuscan Chicken Over Noodles
  • Vegetarian Tuscan Over Noodles

Each meal includes sweet onion green beans, a dinner roll, salad, and tea or water.

In addition to purchasing a meal, attendees are encouraged to bring a minimum $10 recipient gift, payable at the door by cash, check, or Venmo. Checks should be made payable directly to Rhiana Jones. Organizers note that meal purchases do not include the recipient gift contribution.

All recipient donations, along with proceeds from raffle items, desserts, and auction activities, will go directly to Jones at the end of the evening.

One of the unique aspects of HOW Oakhurst is that participation is open to everyone. Attendees do not need to know the recipient personally to attend, and men and children are welcome to join in the evening’s activities.

The event will also include the selection of the July recipient, with Jones drawing the next nominee at the conclusion of the gathering.

Organizers say the true heart of Helping One Woman goes beyond financial assistance.

“The overwhelming emotional and heartfelt support that we give our recipients is the energy behind the Helping One Woman Organization,” organizers said. “We look forward to sharing this energy with you on Tuesday, June 16th.”

Those interested in donating raffle items, auction items, or desserts are encouraged to contact HOW Oakhurst. Organizers say they are happy to meet donors in person and express their appreciation for contributions that help support the monthly recipient.
