Flash Flood Watch for Mountain Communities

Mountain Communities  –   The U.S. National Weather Service has issued a FLASH FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY EVENING.

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for a portion of central California, including the following areas, Fresno-Tulare Lower Sierra, Kaiser to Rodgers Ridge, Mariposa-Madera Lower Sierra, San Joaquin River Canyon, and Upper San Joaquin River.

From Sunday afternoon through Monday evening flash flooding is possible over and near recently burned areas including the Creek Fire burn area.

Mudslides and debris flows are also possible over and near recently burned areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
