OAKHURST – Firefighters responded to report of a structure fire on Birch Circle off Road 426 this morning just after 9 a.m.
The first engine on-scene, Cal Fire Engine 4254 out of Bass Lake, reported a 15 x 30 ft. wood frame storage shed was over 50% involved when they arrived.
Madera County Fire Department Engines 12 and 212 out of Oakhurst also responded, along with Water Tender 16 from Ahwahnee and Breathing Support Unit 14. Other resources dispatched were called off as those on the scene got things under control in short order.
The fire was called contained at 10:09 a.m. Cal Fires estimates the loss of the building at $5,000 and the contents at $10,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
