MARIPOSA COUNTY — Firefighters are on scene of a vegetation fire just north of Bootjack in Mariposa County.
Crews were dispatched at about 2:20 p.m. to reports of a fire burning in the 5600 block of Carleton Road near Morning Star Lane.
The first engine at scene reported the fire as a 200×20 foot spot burning along the roadway. The Incident Commander requested that sheriff’s deputies and CHP close down Carleton Road in the Morning Star Lane area to allow crews clear access for suppression efforts.
Firefighters quickly got a hose lay around the fire and had the forward progress stopped by 2:38 p.m.. All resources not already at scene were cancelled.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
