Fire Alert: Road 200 And Road 222 In North Fork

NORTH FORK– A vegetation fire has been reported at Road 200 and Road 222 in North Fork. Ground and air crews are battling the fire at this time. Evacuations are in progress. We will update this article as more information is available.

The Fork Fire is now 400 acres and 0% contained according to CalFire.

All evacuations remain in place (see below).

All North Fork area schools have been canceled for tomorrow, Thursday, 9.8.2022.

Update 6:10pm

The fire has been mapped at 279 acres by the Fire Integrated Real-time Intelligence System FIRIS mapping aircraft.

EVACUATION ORDER: Road 233 from Peckinpah to Cascadel (elevated from “Warning”)

An Evacuation Center has been set up by the The Red Cross of the Central Valley at the Oakhurst Community Center

There is an immediate threat to life. This is an evacuation order to leave NOW. The area is being closed to public access. Take action immediately.

-Cascadel Road from Road 225 to the Community of Cascadel
-Douglas Ranger Station Road
-Road 222 from Carmen Ranch Road to Fresno/Madera County Line

Small animals can go to the Oakhurst Community Center  at 39800 Fresno Flats Rd, Oakhurst, CA 93644 and large animals can go to the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds at 44777 Rodeo Grounds Ln, Coarsegold, CA 93614.

-Douglas Ranger Station Road and Road 225 to Boulder Creek Drive

Update 5:34pm

The Fork Fire is now over 300 acres. Numerous firefighting crews are arriving from neighboring counties and being assigned to their divisions. Multiple helicopters and tankers are also working the fire. The potential acreage is 500.

An Evacuation Warning has been issued for North Fork from Cascadel to the Mammoth Pool Trailer park due to Wildfire in North Fork.
There is a potential threat to life and property. Monitor the situation and be prepared to take action immediately. Don’t wait for an evacuation order to leave if you feel threatened.
Those who require additional time to evacuate, and those with pets and livestock should leave now.
