Evacuations On Road 632 Due To Sky Fire

OAKHURST – Sheriff’s deputies are notifying those at Calvin Crest, Camp Redwood, Paradise Springs and the Girl Scout camp that they are under a mandatory evacuation and must leave immediately due to the Sky Fire.

Since they can’t leave by way of southbound Road 632, deputies are determining the best way for everyone to leave, for both small cars and large trucks and trailers.

As of now, they are sending everyone up to Forest Road 6S10X and over to Beasore Road, down to Bass Lake.

Deputies are also evacuating all campgrounds up to Soquel, Grey’s Mountain and Nelder Grove.

Citizens on Patrol and CHP are now closing Road 632 at Highway 41. COPS will also be stationed along the route to direct people as they make their way out of the area.

Evacuees who need a place to go are being directed to Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church in Oakhurst.

A car fire on Road 632 (Sky Ranch Road) is being named as the cause of the fire, which was reported at 5 acres, but has been growing quickly over the past hour. The fire began 1.8 miles up Road 632 from Highway 41.
