Evacuations Lifted On Sky Ranch For Residents Only

OAKHURST — Residents evacuated from Sky Ranch Road are being allowed to return home.

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office has announced that evacuations will be lifted as of 11:30 a.m. today for Sky Ranch, ECCO and The Grove.

Residents will be required to show identification to enter, and the area remains closed to the public until further notice.

Resident screening locations have been established at traffic control points.

The area of Sky Ranch Road within the Sierra National Forest remains closed.

A road block will remain on Sky Ranch Road ¼ of a mile north of Buckskin Lane.

For additional information regarding traffic control points and re-entry, residents should contact the Railroad Fire Information Line at 559-373-0040.

The public is to remain vigilant on current fire conditions in the area.

SAFETY MESSAGE: If you see electrical wires on the ground, stay clear and contact PG&E immediately. Trees and poles with deep charring, particularly still smoking, should be considered hazardous. PG&E is ready to assist and can be contacted at 1-800-743-5000.

Please drive carefully as emergency responders and members of the California National Guard continue to operate in the area.
