Evacuations Lifted For Remainder Of Serpa Fire Area

COARSEGOLD — As firefighters continue their work on the Serpa Fire, officials have lifted all evacuations for the remaining areas south of Road 420.

As of 9 a.m., residents are being allowed to return home to the Cavin Lane/Mattie Fhy areas, plus Snyder Road and Paulsen Lane.

Only residents will be allowed into the area, so please have IDs ready.

Road 420 (Thornberry) is now open all the way from Road 223 to Highway 41 to both residents and the public.

According to Cal Fire Public Information Officer Jaime Williams, the Red Cross Shelter in YLP will be closing down this morning, and the Large Animal Shelter at the rodeo grounds in Coarsegold will close at noon.

We will update on conditions on the fireline as soon as that information becomes available.
