COARSEGOLD, CA — The Chukchansi Economic Development Authority (CEDA), has donated $10,000 to support the Yosemite Highschool Badgers football team. CEDA is the business arm of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians. This donation comes at a good time for the badgers, as the team faces financial challenges. Therefore, allowing the team to purchase essential equipment and resources.
Revitalizing the Badgers Football Program
To begin with, the football program has struggled for over a decade due to a lack of funding. Yosemite High School’s athletic director and Head Football Coach, John Beck, directly addressed the program’s difficulties.
“Our program has been neglected for 10 or more years and our status in the area is a reflection of that neglect,” Beck said. “With your financial help, we will be better able to serve the needs of our football program, helping to increase the scope of influence our team will have on those in our community.”
How the Donation Will Help
In addition, the $10,000 donation from the Chukchansi Tribe will fund new equipment and training resources. Hence, strengthening the team’s performance on the field. Not to mention, the support also promotes values like teamwork and commitment among the players.
Chairwomen of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians, Tracey Hopkins, expressed pride in supporting the Badgers.
