O’NEALS — The Chukchansi Economic Development Authority (CEDA) has made a direct contribution to support youth sports in the community. Moreover, CEDA represents the business interests of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians. The donation to the Minarets Foundation, Inc. will strengthen the Minarets High School football program, known as the Mustangs, as they gear up for the 2024-25 season.
Fundraising Efforts & Overcoming Challenges
Firstly, the tribe’s generous contribution was a $5,000 donation, along with a $700 gift basket. Furthermore, the gift basket was a gift from Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino for a silent auction. These donations aim to boost the Minarets High School football team. For instance, proceeds from the auction will help cover essential needs such as nutrition, safety equipment, and other gear as the program works to overcome various challenges.
Moreover, led by Head Varsity Coach Shannon Pulliam, the Mustangs continue to strive for success by providing valuable opportunities for student-athletes. In addition, the program focuses on discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. In turn, preparing players for achievements both on and off the field.
Tribal Support & Community Impact
Additionally, the Chukchansi Tribe expresses how important their contribution is to the community.
“We are proud to support the youth in our community, knowing that nurturing their growth today builds a stronger future,” said Tracey Hopkins.
Hopkins continues, “We look forward to seeing this program continue to succeed and flourish. Go Mustangs!”
Similarly, Coach Pulliam expressed his gratitude for the donation. He noted that support from community partners plays a crucial role in closing funding gaps.
“Support from partners like the Chukchansi Tribe helps us meet the needs of our athletes for the upcoming season,” he said.
