Lupe Thompson, aka Tita and Tita Boo
On Sunday, February 12, 2023, Lupe Thompson, aka Tita and Tita Boo, of North Fork, CA, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 79 from a heart attack while camping with friends in Yuma, AZ.
It’s just like her to live life to the fullest until the end. Tita was the heart of the family, the glue of every event, and the first one on the dance floor. She exuded life.
Lupe was born in El Paso, TX, grew up in Las Cruces, NM, and moved to Southern CA while in high school.
She spent the last 30 years of her life in North Fork, CA.
She has left a string of friendships all along the way. She had a great love of family and hosted many family celebrations. She had a kind and generous spirit. She was a devout Catholic and an active and involved parishioner in each church she attended. She had a great gift of making friends wherever she went and never met a stranger. She enjoyed quilting with the Thursday Thimbles and SMQA, going out to eat with friends, being a part of the OLS Women’s Guild, and camping with the Gypsies. She was outspoken and never afraid to speak her mind.
Those of us who were lucky enough to know her have truly been blessed. The memories leave smiles on our faces.
Lupe was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law. Her mother, Romelia, her father, Arturo, and her brothers, John and Louie, preceded her death. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Thompson, and her two children, Lisa (Ray) and Gina (Bob), seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
