Jessica Astorga
August 31, 1987 – 2023
Jessica Donikowski Astorga was born to Marie and Rodolfo Astorga on August 31st, 1987 in Duarte, California. She grew up in Oakhurst, California as the eldest sister to Lyndsey and Marissa. Upon Rudy’s passing in 1990, Jessica and her sisters were provided for by her mom Marie and countless other strong resilient women.
Upon graduating Yosemite High School in 2006 Jessica found her way to Portland, South Lake Tahoe, Fort Worth, and many cities in between. Jessica’s nomadic nature gave her a strong sense of adventure and an adaptable lifestyle. She was an avid snowboarder, a devoted punk and country music fan, and could be found attending a professional basketball or football game wherever she was traveling.
One of Jessica’s proudest accomplishments was being a dedicated dog-mom to Zappa. Jessica was slow to speak, a present listener, and to those she was closest with an occasional gabber. Jessica had a memorable smile that was both beautiful and sincere. She was sassy, kind, and resilient—she had a giving heart and a thoughtful brain. Jessica is survived by her mother Marie Astorga-Smith, her two younger sisters Lyndsey and Marissa Astorga. Also, Marie’s husband Dale Smith, and Lyndsey’s husband Michael Turner, as well as many extended family members and friends. Her presence in their lives will be forever missed.
