MARIPOSA–The Cal Fire Madera-Mariposa-Merced Unit (MMU) has announced they will be conducting 3 prescribed burns next week. The projects will not affect traffic on nearby roads. Please do not report.
Beginning on Monday, June 18, a prescribed burn will take place in the Tesoro Viejo community. If weather conditions permit and resources are available, a total of 100 acres will be burned. The location includes Tesoro Viejo boulevard and continues to the Madera Canal. For more information see the press release below.
Thursday, June 20, a prescribed burn will take place at Lake McClure in preparation for the annual fireworks event. It will also be a training burn. If weather conditions permit and resources are available, a total of 50 acres will be burned. For more information see the press release below.
Sunday, June 23, a prescribed burn will take place at Minarets High School. The burn will help protect the high school and it’s infrastructure. If weather conditions permit and resources are available, a total of 14 acres will be burned. For more information see the press release below.
