Cal Fire Lifts Burn Suspension, Allowed With Valid Permit
Mariposa, CA – Effective today, October 20th, 2025, debris burning will be allowed in Mariposa and Eastern Madera Counties. Residents possessing current and valid residential burn permits can now resume burning on permissive but days.

Property owners and residents are asked to use caution while conducting debris burns and follow all the burning guidelines provided. Cal Fire reminds you that residents must always maintain control of the fire. Individuals can be held civilly and/or criminally liable for allowing fire to escape their control and/or burn onto a neighboring property.
Residents wishing to burn must have a valid permit and verify that it is a permissive burn day prior to burning. Residents must adhere to the conditions of the permit. Burning outside the perimeters of the permit may result in a citation.
