MOUNTAIN COMMUNITIES–Fall weather has finally found us and the last weekend in October is going to be full of celebrations that will kick off the holiday season. Following is a collection of the many festivals and Halloween events coming up in our mountain communities.

ZOO BOO

Join us for our annual ZooBoo celebration – now with more candy than ever before! Guests of all ages can come to the Zoo and celebrate the fall season.

This year’s ZooBoo will feature over 1000 pumpkins, including over 100 uniquely designed patterns and personalities, brand new pirate ship with a giant squid monster, pumpkin hand carving demos, magic shows, live entertainment, lots of treats and great eats for all!

Everyone is encouraged to dress in costumes. We encourage creative costumes, but please make sure they are of good taste.

Family friendly costumes only
No weapons
No full face masks
No extremely scary costumes

The Zoo’s regular rules for dress (including shirt and shoe requirement and no offensive language) apply during this event.

MONSTER MAYHEM

You’re invited to Monster Mayhem hosted by the Oakhurst Elk’s Lodge 2724!

Enjoy a Halloween-themed dinner and dance with live music featuring The Human Jukebox.  Join the fun and dress to impress in your best costume.

  • Chicken dinner with salad and dessert served at 6:00 PM

HALLOWEEN LIMITED TRAIN

Looking for a fun and spooky train ride? Come aboard the Halloween railroad adventure! Goody bags are provided for all costumed guests! Trick or treating is offered in the shops.

Dinner is served at 5:00 p.m. Children’s dinner includes an all-beef hot dog, chips, and coleslaw with dessert. Option for children to upgrade to hamburger for $5 more. Adult dinner includes a choice of a hamburger, hot dog, or vegetarian with chips, coleslaw, and dessert.

Train boards at 6:00 p.m. for a ride down to the loop for an outdoor spooky story time. Back to the station around 8:00 p.m.

For an extra special adventure, experience the Fright Class service with complimentary beverages and table service for dinner. Then hop on board the caboose for a spooky story and a chance to ride in the cupola while looking out for scary creatures.

October 28, 29, 30 – $25 children (3-15), $45 adults (16+), $125 fright class (first class ages 3+)

Yosemite Cinema Presents Haunted VR

This Halloween we dare you to survive 3 terrifying VR Halloween experiences! If you succeed, you win a small popcorn and the first 100 get a one-of-a-kind sticker!

Halloween VR at Yosemite Cinema will run from October 1st – October 31st

  • Monday – Thursday 5-8 pm,
  • Friday – Sunday 4-9 pm.

Discounts for groups 6 or more will be available from Monday – Thursday. Additional discounts will not be available for the Halloween VR experience(s).

*Tickets are $32 per person for all three.  Experiences can also be viewed separately for $12 each.

Halloween Cotton Candy Sale

Bass Lake Lions will be selling cotton candy at the Bass Lake Craft Fair on Saturday, October 29th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All monies garnered by the Bass Lake Lions are used to support local mountain charities and scholarships.

 

 

Coarsegold Tarantula Awareness Festival

Join us for some creepy crawly fun & festivities at the Coarsegold Historic Village for the 25th Annual Tarantula Awareness Festival!

This notorious event brings people from near and far and is sure to tantalize the curiosity of all ages. Centered around Halloween time, the theme encourages participation in various events such as costume contests, pumpkin cheesecake submissions, tarantula poems; the list goes on. Details on the event will be on our social media links as well as provided on our webpage as the date becomes closer. Visit our creepy crawlies as they are brought in to guarantee a “WOW!”

Witches & Warlocks Annual Bass Lake Halloween Paddle

With Fall, comes the BEST Halloween Party this side of Salem, the Bass Lake Annual Witches and Warlocks on the Water Halloween Paddle and Party at The Pines Village! People of all ability levels and any human powered water craft are welcome. Men, women, kids, and four legged friends are all welcome – it’s fun for the whole Family!

Meet up at 5pm near the Marina Launch area. Everyone “flys” at dusk and paddle from the Pines to Falls Beach and back. If They’ll be a costume contest again with awards will be announced after the paddle, in the Pines Village so stay and play and shop and dance and drink. Come early with the kiddos and watch the golf cart parade. Drink and food specials will be available for those in costume from The Great Indoors.

6th Annual Bass Lake Fall Festival & Halloween Carnival

Stop by the Pines Village on Sat. Oct 29th, 2022 and join us for our 6th Annual Bass Lake Halloween Carnival, for some fun for the entire family!!

Families can participate in a variety of activities, games and crafts. Both free and paid.

KIDS activities at this Year’s Halloween Carnival:

  • Digital Photo Booth
  • Trick or Treat in the Village
  • Inflatables (bounce houses, slides, games)
  • Costume Contest (children only; age 0-12)
  • Face Painting
  • Caricature Artist
  • Music by DJ

3rd Annual Bass Lake Community Golf Carts ‘n Treats

The night has come for Halloween Fun at The Pines Village with the 3rd Annual Halloween In The Village (aka  – Community Golf Carts n’ Treats)!

  • Saturday, October 29 festivities begin at 6PM
  • Golf Cart Parade at 6:30PM
  • Following the parade, park your cart in front of the Out West store to pass out your candy to all the little ghouls!

 

Halloween Party At The Pines Bar

Come in your scariest costume and celebrate Halloween at The Pines Bar with LIVE music from One Hot Minute!

The fun begins on October 31st at 5pm-7pm at the Fairfield Inn parking lot. Come dressed to impress and scare the socks off your fellow Halloweeners!

Southgate Station’s 1st Annual Halloween Celebration

Trick or Treating at all shops, free BBQ hotdogs & lemonade by Supernaw Catering, pumpkin carving, tarot card readings, kids activities and frightful characters running about….You don’t wanna miss it!!!
