Alert: Vegetation Fire Raymond

RAYMOND–Air and ground firefighters are responding to a vegetation fire in the 38000 block of Road 600. The fire is reported to be 5 acres burning at a moderate rate of spread in oak woodland. The potential is for 25 acres. This is the Gulch Fire.

UPDATE 3:30pm

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the evacuation order for Zone MAD-E0303 Dupfy Fire Road- West have been lifted. Please use caution, emergency equipment and personnel are still in the area. Go to www.maderaaware.com for an interactive map of current conditions.

The fire is contained. Crews will remain on scene for 4-5 hours for full control.

UPDATE 10:12am

Firefighters will be on scene for approximately 4 hours mopping up. Air attack and a helicopter are also working the fire at this time.

An Evacuation Warning has been issued for Zone MAD-E0303 Dupfy Fire Road- West due to Vegetation Fire. There is a potential threat to life and property. Monitor the situation and prepare to take action immediately. Don’t wait for an evacuation order to leave if you feel threatened.
