Alert: Vegetation Fire Near the Mariposa Airport

MARIPOSA–Air and ground firefighters are responding to a vegetation fire in the area of the Mariposa Airport on Hwy 49 near School House Lane. The fire is reported to be 2 acres moving at a fast rate of spread and threatening multiple structures. This will be the Bullion Fire. We will update this article when new information is available.

Update 10:30 pm

The fire is now 100% contained.

Update 7:12 pm

The fire is now 50% contained per CALFIRE.

Update 5:44 pm

The fire’s containment has been revised to 30% per CALFIRE.

Update 4:49 pm

The fire is now 100% contained per CALFIRE. All evacuations have been lifted.

Update 3:45 pm

The fire has been mapped at 49.6 acres.

Law enforce officials are conducting evacuations in the area of Princeton Way in Mt Bullion.

Update 2:23 pm

The fire is now 20+ acres and impacting the airport hangars.
