Alert: Vegetation Fire Midpines

MIDPINES–Air and ground firefighters are responding to a vegetation fire in the area near Grosjean Road  and near Alta Vista Road. The fire is burning at a rapid rate of spread and threatening multiple structures. This is the French Fire.

We will update this article when more information is available.

Evacuation Center is at New Life Christian Fellowship, 5089 Cole Road in Bootjack. Central California Animal Disaster Team (CADT) is assisting animal owners with their small companion animals there.

Update 7:30 am

The fire is now 842 acres with 5% containment. More information can be found here.

Update 11:00 pm

The fire has been mapped at 790 acres by FIRIS Intel 24. Their perimeter can be viewed on the Watch Duty map. Note that perimeters are preliminary & don’t reflect structure protection efforts.

Update 10:45 pm

Evacuation Warning- This is not a Mandatory Evacuation, it is simply a warning of fire in the area and a possible need to evacuate quickly should fire conditions change. Residents should begin to plan and prepare.

JCF Hospital has been put in a shelter in place status

Mandatory evacuations being added for Old Hwy North on both sides of the road from Hwy 140 to Wild Peach per the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office.

The fire is now 172 acres per Intel 12 mapping aircraft.

The fire is now @40 acres. Localized evacuations are taking place. A temporary evacuation point is being set up at New Life Christian Fellowship at 5089 Cole Rd in Bootjack
