Alert: Vegetation Fire Kinsman Flat

KINSMAN FLAT–Air and ground firefighters with Sierra National Forest and Cal Fire are responding to a vegetation fire in the area of Mammoth Pool Road and Kinsman Flat Road. The fire is currently 50 acres and evacuations are in place. This is the King Fire. We will update this article when more information is available.

The fire is now 100% contained.

October 15, 2023

7:20PM

The fire remains 124 acres and is now 50% contained. All evacuation warnings and advisories have been lifted. More information can be found here.

10:06AM

There have been no updates on size or containment yet this morning. Evacuation warnings and advisories are still in place per Genasys Protect.

October 14, 2023

Update 5:00PM

The fire remains 124 acres. Firefighters have retardant around 90% of the fire. Crews will be on scene throughout the night and tomorrow.

Update 4:00PM

The fire is now 124 acres. Evacuation warnings and advisories are still in place. Road blocks are located on Minarets Road at Redinger Overlook and Minarets Road at Fish Creek Campground.
