Alert: Mariposa County Shelter in Place and Evacuations

MARIPOSA COUNTY–The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office has announced the following Evacuation Warning and Shelter in Place orders:

Yosemite West

An EVACUATION WARNING has been issued for the Yosemite West Area. At this time there is the potential for roadway hazards that may impact residents’ ability to leave the area. Should you choose to stay, be aware that rescue or lifesaving assistance may take longer than normal, and you may need to shelter in place for an extended duration. Residents are encouraged to plan and prepare to act immediately should an Evacuation Order be issued. Don’t wait for an Evacuation Order to leave if you feel threatened or cannot maintain sheltering in place for an extended time please leave now. Travel on roadways in these areas could be extremely dangerous, please limit your travel to essential travel only. Do not attempt to cross flooded roadways and watch for roadway hazards.

Triangle Park

SHELTER IN PLACE ISSUED-

Triangle Park Road has been damaged by flood waters. At this time there is no way in or out for residents. Residents should Shelter In Place and not attempt to cross the roadway. Dial 911 if you have an emergency. Sheriff’s Office personnel are currently working on creating an emergency route. Please Shelter in Place until you are notified by our office.

Foresta

SHELTER IN PLACE ISSUED-

Access into the Foresta Area has been compromised. At this time there is no way in or out for residents. Residents should Shelter In Place and not attempt to cross the roadways hazards. Dial 911 if you have an emergency. Sheriff’s Office and Yosemite National Park personnel are currently assessing the areas. Please Shelter in Place until you are notified by our office.

RED CROSS SHELTER

The American Red Cross Resource Center will transition to a shelter at the New Life Christian Fellowship located at 5089 Cole Rd in Bootjack.
