9th Annual Mariposa Field of Service-Past and Present

MARIPOSA COUNTY–Mariposa County’s Citizenship project from Hornitos 4-H Club is hosting the 9th ANNUAL FIELD OF SERVICE- PAST & PRESENT. This program will coincide with the week of Veteran’s Day. It will bring an incredible visual accent to help participants honor those men and women who have placed duty, honor and country before self.

Why and When

During the week of Veterans Day November 4, 2023 to November 12, 2023 hundreds of Flags will fly at the Mariposa Museum and History Center. These flags will pay tribute to all Military Men and Women, Emergency First Responders, Firemen, Law enforcement, and Special People in Our Lives. Remembering those who have served, those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and those that continue to protect our freedom.

What

We are working with the Healing Field® and Field of Honor® programs which have been created as a symbol of freedom, liberty, honor and respect for the ideals and principles symbolized by the flag of the United States of America. These fields of 3×5 ft. flags on 8 ft. poles are displayed in an area for the purpose of promoting and supporting charitable causes in making the flag of the United States of America available for patriotic, educational and charitable purposes. Additionally, these fields further promote the education of future generations and awareness for causes pertaining to the good and honorable values symbolized by our nation’s flag.

How

All proceeds from the 9th Annual Field of Service-Past & Present will benefit the American Legion Post 567, the Veterans Foreign Wars Post 6042, and the Mariposa Museum and History Center. We hope that you will find that besides the pride of being part of such a worthy cause you will also see the value of supporting and contributing to this special event. Please join and support the Field of Service-Past & Present flag display as an opportunity to unite as a community in remembering and honoring our heroes.
