MADERA — The Madera District Fair is holding a contest to search for a fun-loving couple to ‘Get Hitched’ during the 2018 Madera Fair on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 5 p.m.
Madera Fair’s recent campaign, “It’s Your Fair,” will take on a whole new dimension when fair guests gather to witness a Madera County couple say “I do” while surrounded by the glow of midway lights, cotton candy, barns, magicians, music and more!
“The winning couple can expect traditional wedding moments in this fun and unconventional setting, including cake cutting, a first dance and bouquet toss, but with a Madera Fair twist,” says Madera Fair CEO Tom Mitchell. “And of course a Fair wedding wouldn’t be complete without a Ferris wheel ride, fair food and entertainment too.”
The ‘Get Hitched’ wedding contest application is available online at www.maderafair.com or at the Fair Office, 1850 W. Cleveland Ave. in Madera. Interested applicants will be asked to briefly share about their Madera Fair experiences.
To enter, couples may submit their entry by email or to the Fair Office along with a photograph that best represents the couple by no later than Friday, Apr. 6. The public will vote via Facebook for their favorite couple among a selected group of finalists, and the winning couple will be announced on or before May 1.

The Madera Fair will open Thursday, Sept. 6, and run through Sunday, Sept. 9.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for both children 6-12 and for young-at-heart seniors 62 and better, and free for children 5 and under.
