Yosemite Western Artists Tri-County Art Show

MADERA — The public is invited to the opening reception of the Yosemite Western Artists 47th Annual Tri-County Art Show on Thursday, May 9, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The exhibition opens on Tuesday, May 7 and runs through June 28 at Circle Gallery, located at 424 North Gateway Drive in Madera, at the Madera County Arts Council.

Works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, fiber, mixed media, drawing, photography and sculpture/3D will be on display.

Yosemite Western Artists was founded in 1969 byartists and enthusiasts who wanted to share their work, experience, and passion for learning more about the arts. YWA has flourished and continues today as a good-sized group still dedicated to the on-going development of the visual arts in the area.

With meetings held at the historic Gertrude Schoolhouse on Road 600 in Ahwahnee, YWA member Gina Mims says “it’s a great place to connect and be inspired by other artists.”

From live model sessions and plein air workshops, to photography and photoshop, along with an annual portrait show, monthly meetings and demonstrations, the organization promotes dozens of events throughout the year. The Tri County Art Show is their biggest show of the year.
