OAKHURST – Discover Yosemite, a tour company specializing in guided excursions to Yosemite and surrounding attractions, was honored with the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence.
The accolade, which honors hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor, and is extended to qualifying businesses worldwide.
“I got the email from Trip Advisor this morning and was thrilled to see the award, and even more excited to see that only 10% of businesses worldwide receive it,” said Dee Ann Smith, owner of Discover Yosemite.“I’d seen the certificate of excellence icon on another website awhile back and it was on my list to find out how to qualify. Now I know.”
Businesses qualify for the award by maintaining overall ratings of four out of the possible five or higher as reviewed by Trip Advisor users.
“At Discover Yosemite we strive for excellence in every aspect of the business with our guests’ experience in mind. We don’t want them to walk away just satisfied, we want them to remember their day with us as exceptional,” Smith said.
“We start by maintaining our vehicles to higher standards than required and they are thoroughly cleaned daily. We provide lunch, snacks and beverages all day as well as coloring books and crayons for the kids.”
Smith also credited her staff with carrying on the company’s ideals, and ensuring the customers are always put first.
“Our greatest asset is our staff – from our reservationists who help our guests before arriving, to our driver and guides who all have a deep love for Yosemite and more,” she said.
