Yosemite High Theater Arts: "Almost, Maine"

Submitted by Lars Thorson –

OAKHURST – The Yosemite High School (YHS) Theater Arts Department is proud to present the romantic comedy play “Almost, Maine” November 21, 22 and 23 at 7 p.m. in the YHS Theater.

John Cariani’s charming “Almost, Maine” explores the mysteries of the human heart with real people who are truthfully dealing with the toughest thing there is in life: love.

During a mid-winter’s night, residents of a mythical town in far northern Maine are falling in and out of love at an alarming rate. The show features nine different couples during a cold Friday night; as they struggle to come together or fall apart, the northern lights shine to create a magical, other worldly feeling.

YHS Senior Chance McGee said, “It’s a challenge to work on characters who are so real and experience the scary parts of love.”

The production features 24 students from the Advanced Theater Arts class and a live pianist.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students. For more information or reservations please call (559) 683-4667 ext. 256.
