Yosemite High Senior Project Fair

OAKHURST — If you’re in search of a positive affirmation for the future — this is it!

138 soon-to-be-graduates will proudly display their service projects and achievements to the community and a panel of volunteer judges at the Yosemite High School Senior Project Fair on Tuesday, May 23 in the YHS Cafeteria from 6 to 8 p.m.

Senior project are not easy: the process starts at the end of junior year when students are asked to start thinking about what community service project they will undertake.

In the fall of senior year, they write proposals to the designated committee. Once projects are approved, students are required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of service for the greater good. On completion and leading up to graduation, they spend weeks working on their display boards, resume, research and reflection papers, all in preparation for this big night.

Judges may include parents and relatives of seniors, former students, representatives from service organizations and church, and those who may have contacted the school in anticipation of the event. It is the responsibility of each judge to review a few projects during the evening. Judges will meet in the library to be briefed ahead of time at 5 p.m.

Refreshments will be available and the public is cordially invited to attend.
