Free Entrance To Yosemite On MLK, Jr. Day

YOSEMITE — Yosemite National Park will offer free admission into the park on Monday, Jan. 18, in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The fee free waiver is for all visitors in honor of the holiday.

“This is a special day for our country and we invite Americans to honor the legacy of Dr. King by visiting Yosemite National Park,” stated Don Neubacher, Park Superintendent. “Dr. King’s work reminds us of the value and importance of service and commitment.”

Fees being waived for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day include the fees associated with entrance into the park only. All other fees associated with camping, lodging, or activities within the park are not waived. The fee waiver is good for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day only. A recent series of storms has left a significant amount of snow in the park. Visitors are urged to drive with caution as snow and ice may be present on the roads. Additionally, visitors are advised to carry chains in their vehicles as there are currently chain restrictions in place on many roads within Yosemite National Park.
