OAKHURST – The U14 Yosemite Colts travel baseball team will hold tryouts at Yosemite High School baseball field on two Saturdays, Feb. 8 and 15, starting at 10 a.m.
Players age 12 who are turning 13 before May 1, along with players age 13 including those who will turn 14 before May 1, are all eligible to try out.
In order to be considered for the team, players must attend at least one tryout, say organizers. “However, attending both tryouts will allow the coaches to have greater opportunity to evaluate player skills,and therefore, attending both tryouts is recommended.”
Participation with the Colts baseball team is a commitment that starts in March and ends usually in the fall, with tournaments available all year if the team is committed to playing at that level.
Practice takes place three days per week and tournament play at least once a month. The cost is $200 for the season and if players fund-raise actively, it’s possible the team could play in more tournaments.
