Yosemite Area Audubon Mammal Workshop

AHWAHNEE — Yosemite Area Audubon Society invites the community to attend a free, hands-on Mammal Workshop, covering mammals of the foothills.

Topics for discussion during the workshop include:

  • Kinds of mammals present in our area
  • Techniques for sampling small mammals with live traps
  • Setting up camera traps
  • Examining bats and recording their echolocation calls

This is a two-part workshop that is meeting at the Ahwahnee Hills Regional Park on Friday, May 4 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 5  at 7:30 a.m.

On Friday, Audubon organizers we will give a presentation, set traps for small mammal, and take the guided bat identification walk. On Saturday, they plan to check traps and identify small mammals up close.

Interested parties are invited to join in with Audubon Society members for both or one session. The event is free but donations to YAAS are welcome! Please RSVP to frank.yancey@scccd.edu or modell658@gmail.com
