OAKHURST — Yosemite High School will host a Softball Clinic with YHS alum Josh Taylor. Taylor is currently the head softball coach for the University of Nevada Wolf Pack, a NCAA Division 1 program. Assisting him will be former Team USA pitcher Brianne Durfee.
This is a big deal for our community and program, says YHS coach Dave Maynez.
“Josh wants to give back to his alma mater, which is why he will be here. This is a great opportunity for YHS softball and the local community.”
The clinic is set for Monday July, 17 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It’s open to the first 60 participants between the ages of 12-18, including girls from the mountain and valley communities.
The cost is $30 and the list is filling up fast, say organizers. If any softball player is interested, go to www.yosemiteusd.com/yosemite and print out the registration form and waiver. The form needs to be completed and mailed, along with the fee, to YHS or drop it off at the YHS office during the weekday.
