YHS Girls Basketball Star Jenna Kurz Signs with Fresno Pacific

OAKHURST – Yosemite Badgers Girls Basketball player Jenna Kurz, class of 2021, signs her letter of intent to play basketball at Fresno Pacific University (FPU) with her proud parents Cari and Eric Kurz.
Jenna averaged 23.6 points a game last season as one of the top scorers in the CIF Central Section (121 schools).

Jenna’s season point total of 733 points last season was second all-time for Yosemite High Girls Basketball only behind Sydney Fipps (2011) and just ahead of Katie Menton (2007) both of whom scored over 2000 points in their career and over a 1000 points at their Division 1 universities (UC Davis and Pepperdine).

Jenna was a targeted and coveted recruit for Fresno Pacific University which is coached by Yosemite graduate Tim Beauregard (2000) with Katie Menton as assistant coach.

The Sunbirds play in the very competitive PacWest Conference which includes teams all over California and Hawaii.

FPU is an up and coming program having qualified for the playoffs the past two seasons.

Previous Girls Basketball Badger recruits include 2010 graduates Jenay Herring and Sienna Gonzales (Curtin). Both played 4 years for the Sunbirds with Herring scoring over 1000 points in her career.

Sienna Curtin is married to YHS teacher Andrew Curtin and daughter of long-time YHS employee Richard Gonzales who also graduated from Yosemite.

The Curtins recently welcomed the birth of their son Clay.
