OAKHURST – Yosemite High School Advanced Theater is set to present a play based on the novel “The Giver,” by Lois Lowry.
“The Giver” is directed by YHS student Emma Madsen as her Senior Project.
The YHS drama department will present the play on three nights, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Mar. 7-9. All shows start at 7 p.m.
Wikipedia describes the book as a “dystopian children’s novel set in a society which is, at first, presented as a utopian society, and follows a boy named Jonas through the twelfth year of his life. The society has eliminated pain and strife by converting to ‘Sameness,’ a plan which has led to the elimination of emotional depth from their lives.”Tickets to “The Giver” are $5 per person, and the performances take place in the YHS Theater.
