OAKHURST – Prepare yourselves for a fun family night out that benefits the Boys and Girls Club along with the Children’s Museum of the Sierra, and both in a big way.
The Met Cinema is hosting a special fundraising event to benefit the two organizations, with a screening of the well-loved Disney animated feature “Wreck-It Ralph” on Thursday, June 27.
Doors open at 9 p.m. and the movie runs at 9:30 p.m.
Admission is $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Advance tickets are available on-line or you can call the theater for more information.
Kurtis Foster is running for honorary mayor of Oakhurst on behalf of the Boys and Girls Club. Foster is a local single dad, Yosemite High School grad and Marine vet.
Children’s Museum Director and father of two Steve Montalto is running on behalf of the hands-on discovery center. Montalto is impressed with the generosity of “those wonderful guys at the Met.”
100% of ticket and concession sales will be split between the club and the museum as two candidates participate in the race for Honorary Mayor of Oakhurst.
“These guys are crazy,” Montalto says of the theater owners, “and we love ’em for it! So let’s take advantage of their generosity and have a great turn-out.”
Raffle tickets will be available with prizes including a Nintendo 3DS and a “Wreck-It Ralph” DVD, gifts sponsored by Ameriprise Financial. Met Heroes who attend the movie get five free raffle tickets.
