Woman Located In Vegas After Disappearing With Her Sister’s Child

MADERA COUNTY — The woman sought by law enforcement after she disappeared with her niece yesterday has been found.

The 31-year-old woman identified as Chyanne O’Conner, was reportedly last seen by family members on Monday afternoon in Coarsegold at about 2:30 p.m. when she left in a 2006 Chevy Silverado pickup with her niece.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, O’Connor had traveled from Utah to visit her sister and family in Coarsegold. Shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday, the family contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report a possible abduction, since O’Connor had left with the child, and did not have permission to do so.

A Silver Alert was issued for central California and Nevada.

The pair was spotted on a surveillance camera in the Tulare area last night.

O’Conner was reportedly located in Las Vegas just a short time ago. The child is safe, according to the Sheriff’s Office, and was taken into protective custody.

No further details are available at this time.

Madera County Sheriff’s detectives are continuing their investigation into the details of the incident.
