OAKHURST — Just about time to dust off your dirndl or lederhosen, as the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce says the 5th Annual German Fest is set for March.
The dinner costs $35 per person for an authentic four-course German style dinner. The menu includes deutschesbrot (bread), gurkensalat (cucumber salad), graupeneintopf (barley stew), sauerkraut (red cabbage), kartoffel kasserole (potato), bratwurst and knockwurst (sausages) and, finally, apfelstrudel (apple strudel).
“This special themed event will feature a German style dinner with German beers and wines available at the bar,” says Joelle Leder, Executive Director of the Chamber.
A German band will featured, along with a raffle, say organizers. Raffle items so far include a two-night stay in a cabin at The Redwoods in Yosemite, along with a large television.
German Fest committee chair Dan Rule, of Sierra Tel, and the German Fest Committee have been working hard to make this unique event happen, Joelle says.
Doors open at 6 p.m., dinner begins at 7 p.m., and the raffle is set for 8 p.m. In the past, this event has sold out. Tickets are available at the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce office or online at German Fest on Event Bright
