Wildcats Raise Extra Money With A Rainbow Of Color

AHWAHNEE — Wasuma Elementary School is holding its first annual Color Run fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 5. Students will be collecting pledges and jogging around the Color Run course to raise money for Wasuma PTA. These funds will go back to the school in the form of assemblies, field trips, and other fun special events for the kids.

The day will start off at 8:30 a.m. with Wasuma’s kindergarten class and is sure to be adorably messy, say organizers! Generous sponsors have donated funds to pay for the event, including the purchase of special Color Run t-shirts for every student at the school.

Unlike Color Runs which rely on powdered paints, this event will feature three color stations set up around the track so students can choose to enter the color area to be adorned with non-toxic color paint, applied by parent volunteers. There’s a rinse station, too. Students should wear old clothes that can be discolored and parents may want to send a second set of clothes so students can change after the event.

Sponsors include Country Fair Cinnamon Rolls, Georgeson & Belardinelli, Golden Hills Dental, Greenwood Heating & Air Conditioning, Jerry Chastain MD, Lehman’s Locksmithing, Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital, Reden Properties, River Creek Golf Course, Heath’s Bounce House, and Grocery Outlet.
